2022 the year that ...

When I moved this blog over from Blogspot to Wix and renamed it from www.beautyaware.com to www.mariabyrom.com my full intention was for it to be more of a beauty journal with other stuff thrown in. My blogging has always been patchy, ever since I started in 2013, mainly because I have kids and they were quite little then and they took up a lot of time. Now they are a lot bigger they still take up a lot of time but really I guess I've just been blindsided by the pandemic and I haven't really felt like writing. I just couldn't find it in me to talk about face cream when so many people were facing real problems, it seemed frivolous. Of course, Covid has been with us for a long time and we are now used to dealing with it and having to change our lives because of it. So this year, I have decided to try and get back to some sort of 'normality' myself and one of those 'normal' things for me is blogging.

Over the past two years I have accumulated quite a lot of new products that have been put to the test (during the first lockdown in 2020 I bought a lot of lipstick online) and I recently became an Avon representative, I sell online only but of course I do purchase quite a few Avon beauties myself and actually they are super lovely.

My boys are now 16, 13 and 12 so they are growing up quick and all at High School, one is in Sixth Form so all of a sudden I have gone from being Mum of little boys to Mum of big lads! My husband has been working from home for two years now and the dog has taken up residence on the spare sofa in his study where he regularly joins Hubs in Zoom meetings. So you can see this is very much a male dominated household and I am seriously outnumbered. Which is why it's even more important for me to be able to write about all the things they don't want to talk about, like mascara and lipstick!

This photo was taken on a very windy and cold Christmas Day 2021, I took the dog for a walk in the park whilst the rest of them were dealing with lunch (I am not a great cook!) and gosh it was so cold, the wind was whipping from all sides! I do love this park though, it's really pretty in the Spring and Summer.

This has been more of a re-introduction post than anything else, next time I'll talk about some beauty stuff. Until then ... Happy New Year!
